Columbia University Professor of History, Victoria de Grazia, was recently honored with a 2017-18 Alliance Joint Projects grant for her project on “De-Provincializing Soft Power: A Global-Historical Approach, 1990-2015.”
This project analyzes Brazil’s concepts and practices of cultural power, as a result of the US and European experiences of soft power, and also compares them with the occurrences in Turkey and China. This is the ultimate stage of a three-year project, which commenced in the fall of 2014.
