Professor Martha C. Howell Awarded Huntington Library Fellowship

Professor Martha C. Howell has been invited as a distinguished fellow in residence at the Huntington Library for 2017-2018.

The Huntington, located in southern California, is one of the world’s greatest cultural, research and educational centers. The Huntington Library is one of the most expansive research libraries in the United States and offers accomplished scholars access to a wealth of information in their fields of specialization.

Martha Howell, Miriam Champion Professor of History, specializes in social, economic, legal and women’s history in northern Europe during the late medieval and early modern centuries.  She is the recipient of fellowships from the Mellon Foundation, Fulbright, ACLS, Guggenheim and other European foundations. She is currently working on the culture of credit in northern Europe during the late medieval and early modern centuries.
