Christine Landfried, Max Weber Chair for German and European Studies at New York University

Christine Landfried has studied Political Science, History and International Relations at the University of Heidelberg and Harvard University. She is currently the Chair of Comparative Government at the University of Hamburg and the Max Weber Chair for German and European Studies at New York University. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Social Science Research Center in Berlin and a Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School. She has taught at Sciences Po in Paris, the University of California at Berkeley, and the European University Institute in Florence. Her primary teaching and research interests reside in the political impact of national and international constitutional courts as well as European integration.

This talk is Part 4 of the 2014-15 Europe Seminar on the European public sphere. The Europe Seminar brings scholars from North America, Europe, and the world to Columbia for intense talks on European history, politics, economics, and society.
